Description

The former Tetbury Brewery, located behind Number 6 on Hampton Street, is a mid-19th century building. It is constructed from dressed and coursed stone and features a slate roof with two hipped ranges, the lower range situated at the rear. The structure is a tall block of three storeys, with unusually high ground floor windows and varied fenestration. The front facade includes two round-headed windows, which are accented with quoins, keystones, and impost blocks, along with string courses separating the floors. The top storey is adorned with three pilaster strips, a corbel table, a parapet, and a central gable that displays the inscription "ESTABLISHED TETBURY BREWERY 1800" in large stone letters. The right return and rear walls also feature similar scattered round-headed windows. Additionally, the front range has a rectangular glazed lantern with a hipped and sprocketed roof, while the rear range includes a louvred ventilating lantern with a hipped slate roof, decorative ridge tiles, and two small triangular dormers below.
