Description

This is a late 18th-century building that originally served as wool warehouses, a brewery, and laundry buildings. It is now partially converted into houses (in the south end of No. 2) and offices (in the north end of No. 4, which is currently unoccupied). The building is constructed of rubble stone with a Cotswold stone slate roof. A small, partially glazed cupola sits on the ridge, topped with a weathervane. The street-facing elevation has a large, blank wall section in the centre of the block with two small, two-light stone windows stacked above one another. There are three doorways in the centre of the wall, two of which have been blocked, with stone lintels and quoins. A further doorway with a simple glass fanlight and half-glazed door is located to the left, alongside a blocked-in former carriage arch with a 20th-century bow window inserted. These features are part of the conversion of No. 2. To the right, below the windows, is a 12-pane sash window on the ground floor, and beyond that, No. 4 has been converted into offices with various windows and doors. The two end sections of the building are not considered to be of particular architectural interest.
