Description
The Brewery is an outbuilding, possibly a former brewhouse, located approximately 10 metres west of The Manor House. It dates from the 17th to 18th century, with some alterations from the 19th century. The building features regular coursed limestone and lias in alternating courses, with sandstone quoins. The first floor is rendered at the front and rear, while the left side has a timber-framed gable with 19th-century yellow brick infill. The roof is tiled, topped with a 19th-century ridge stack of linked stacks that have dogtooth cornices.
The Brewery is two storeys high and has a one-window range. The irregular front includes a sliding plank door with a stone flat arch, a small opening with a plank door to the left, and a small window to the right. On the right side, there is a half-glazed door with side-lights. The first floor features a plank door on the right and a 20th-century two-light casement window. The left side has a fielded eight-panelled door in a wooden surround, with a fixed light window with glazing bars above it.
At the rear, there is a bricked-up chamfered stone Tudor-arched doorway on the right, which has a small window inserted, and a blocked 19th-century brick Tudor arch doorway to the left. The first floor has two two-light leaded casements with gables. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
