Description
Iffley Lodge is a 17th-century cottage that has been altered and slightly raised in the 19th century, with further changes and additions made to the rear in the late 20th century. The building is timber framed with colourwashed brick infill, and the return sides are underbuilt in colourwashed brick. It features a tiled roof with a brick external stack on the left and an end stack on the right. The cottage has a two-unit plan, is one storey and attic high, and has a two-window range. The entrance, located on the left return side, includes a late 20th-century timber and glass porch. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century two-light casement window on the left, while the right side has a fixed light window with glazing bars that abuts a 19th-century three-light casement with horizontal glazing bars. The dormers feature 2-light casements. The right return side has a semi-circular bread oven projection made of lias stone. Inside, the rear wall displays exposed framing, and the room to the right has infill replaced with glass and a 19th-century carved fireplace, along with ceiling beams.
