Description

The building is a house with a brewery at the rear, likely dating from the 18th century. It features coursed rubble construction and a Cotswold stone roof. There is an ashlar chimney at the left end and a corner wall-face chimney on the right. The structure has two storeys and three windows on the first floor, which are glazing-bar sashes. There is a segmental central archway from around 1830, flanked by a timber lintel. The ground floor includes three-light casements, with the left-hand one re-using a mullion-window cill, and a plank door dating from around 1946.

The layout is courtyard-style, with brewery ranges leading to an early 18th-century malthouse. The malthouse features chamfered mullion windows in rebated surrounds, with single lights on the long wing and a segmental entry at the south end. There are apparent tie-beam ends, and the east wing has a hipped roof with a three-light mullion window and a louvred cupola.

Additionally, there is a corner block facing Priory Lane, built in the mid-19th century. This section is two storeys high and has an irregular design, with loft doors off centre, a wing that has three windows and central doors to the left, and another wing with widely spaced windows to the right, featuring segmental head windows on the ground floor. This building is an important element in Priory Lane.
