Description
The garden boundary walls of The Priory date from the 16th and 17th centuries, with restorations in the 18th and 20th centuries. They are constructed of rubble and feature coping with rounded tops, standing mostly between 2 to 4 meters high. The garden is divided into two separate parts to the south of The Priory, connected by a pointed arch entry and two additional plain doors. There is also a Tudor arch doorway in the north wall. The walls to the east and south define the boundaries of Priory Lane and Sheep Street, respectively. These walls are significant to the character of the town, serving as street boundary walls and providing an important setting for The Priory.
