Description
The link between the Priory and Lenthall's Chapel is an arcaded loggia built between 1661 and 1662. It is constructed of freestone and sits on a moulded plinth. The structure features a restored balustraded parapet that provides access to a family pew through a Tudor-arch door from the side of the ballroom of the Priory. On the ground floor, there are three irregularly spaced arches supported by panelled pilasters and architraves, with a central doorway that has a bracket key, while the other two arches have been converted into windows. All three archways are filled with Chinese Chippendale latticework. To the west, there is a one-bay extension with two arches below. The link was restored by W H Godfrey in 1937.
