Description
The Paddocks is a former barn that has been converted, along with two adjoining cottages that are now combined into one. The early 18th century cottage is accompanied by a mid to late 18th century barn, which features a gablet window that is dated and initialled 'E.F.C. 1940'. The building is constructed from limestone rubble, which was previously painted cream, and has roofing made of stone slate and artificial stone slate, with ashlar stacks.
The early 18th century cottage has a barn with a projecting porch at the right gable end, while a 20th century cottage matches the earlier cottage at the left gable end. Both cottages are two storeys high with an attic and each has a single gablet. The entrance front has four windows, which are illuminated by 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, and to the right, there is a single 3-light fixed casement with a timber lintel. A 20th century panelled door with a concrete lintel is located far right. At the rear, there are two-light stone-mullioned casements.
The barn features a projecting gabled porch off-centre to the left and has two buttresses with offsets to the right of the porch. The former entrance porch is now blocked, with a 20th century stone-mullioned casement inserted into the blocking. Above this, there is a 20th century two-light metal casement. The interior has not been inspected.
