Description
Bodkin Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. It is built of limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins and features a stone slate roof. The original ashlar stacks have been replaced with coursed squared and dressed limestone. The cottage has a rectangular plan and is two storeys high with an attic.
The facade has two windows: one 2-light and one 3-light wooden casement on the ground floor, both with timber lintels. The first floor features two 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, and there is a single central 2-light dormer with a hipped roof. At the rear, there are two 2-light stone-mullioned casements on the first floor and single-light garret windows in the gable ends. All casements have horizontal glazing bars. Access to the cottage is via a 20th-century lean-to extension at the rear, which is not of special interest. The cottage has gable-end stacks, and the interior has not been inspected.
