Description
No. 3 Church Row is a cottage that dates from the mid 17th century to the early 18th century. It is constructed from limestone rubble that was previously painted cream and features a stone slate roof. The stack has been restored in the 20th century with dressed stone quoins. The cottage has a rectangular plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The facade has two windows, which are lit by two and three-light flat-chamfered stone-mullioned casements that include horizontal glazing bars and early fastenings. There is a string course between the floors and a single two-light hipped dormer that is slate-hung. The central entrance features a 20th-century part-glazed door set within a beaded dressed stone surround, which is located in an early 20th-century segmental-headed porch that has decorative fretwork sides supported by brick walls. A gable-end stack is present. The interior has not been inspected.
