Description

This is an open-fronted outbuilding and attached store located approximately 15 meters east of Little Colesborne, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of roughly coursed limestone rubble with dressed quoins and has a roof made of slate and concrete tiles. The building has a 'U'-shaped plan, with the enclosed store situated on the right side. There is a small artificial stone lean-to attached to the store, which is not considered of special interest.

The enclosed store features a central stable door and three 20th-century three-light casements on the wall facing the house. There is a blocked single-width doorway in the forward-facing gable end. At the apex of the gable, there is a quatrefoil with carved spandrels that includes a carved lion's head, which is likely a reused element. The central part of the open-fronted store consists of five bays, with a three-bay return on the right. The bays are divided by solid limestone monoliths that have flat-chamfered corners and carved capitals. The open-fronted store also has stepped gable end coping.
