Description
Slys Cottage is a 17th-century building that was formerly a shop and post office, and is now used as a house. It is constructed from random rubble limestone and features a stone slate roof with a brick chimney. The cottage is single-storey with an attic and consists of two rooms. Inside, there is a fireplace and a spiral staircase located in the gable end.
The front of the cottage has an off-centre doorway that includes a reused Classical lintel. To the left of the doorway, there is a two-light window with a recessed chamfered mullion and a hoodmould. To the right, there is a timber casement window with a timber lintel. The cottage also has two roof dormers that contain 19th-century casements. A blocked doorway can be found at the gable end, along with a two-light window in the attic. At the back, there is one two-light window. In the attic, part of the roof truss is visible, featuring an arched collar.
