Description
The East Coach House at Colesbourne Park is a coach house built around 1850 by David Brandon for H. J. Elwes. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a limestone tufa plinth. The building features cross-roll saddles on the parapet gables, coved eaves with cast-iron gutters supported by slender brackets, and a plain tile roof. This single-storey coach house has a room at one end. There is a large opening with a concrete lintel, which is a 20th-century alteration, and a Tudor-arched doorway to the left with a 2-light mullioned window above it. Additionally, there are 2-light windows at each end of the front, with leaded casements on all windows. The coach house is part of a group of three buildings arranged around a central courtyard and is included for its group value.
