Description

The Manse is a former manse that has been converted into a private house, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins on the right side, topped with a stone slate roof. There is a brick ridge stack and a renewed stone end stack on the left. The building is a single range with a projecting swept down extension on the left and stands two storeys high.

The façade features two windows, which are 4-pane sashes set beneath a timber lintel. There is a blocked opening between the windows, also with a timber lintel, and pieces of timber set into the wall above. A plat band runs below the windows, with keystones linked to two segmental-headed 4-pane sashes that have splayed stone voussoirs. The central doorcase is notable for its reeded corner piers and a door made of four fielded panels. Above the door is a large flat wooden hood with upper moulding, supported by curved infilled brackets, and the entrance is accessed by two stone steps. The left-hand return of the building has scattered fenestration.
