Description
The Old House is a former farmhouse for Reevey Farm, now a private residence. It dates from the late 17th century, with alterations likely made in the early 20th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone with a tile roof, which was probably originally stone slate. It features a brick stack at the right end and a rendered stack at the left end. The house is a single range of two storeys and an attic, with a separate rear cottage wing of later date that is not of special interest.
The front facade has three windows, which are 2-light leaded casements set in plain stone surrounds with timber lintels above. On the ground floor, there is a 3-light window to the right, an early 20th-century canted bay window to the left, and a gabled porch at the center, both of which have stone slate roofs. The entrance includes a nine-panel door with the top three panels glazed, framed in a moulded wood surround. There is also a small gabled dormer on the left side. The right-hand return and the rear of the building retain several original 17th-century two-light and single-light stone windows.
