Description

Oatlands Bridge is a former bridge on the Thames and Severn Canal, which has since been filled in. It dates from the late 18th century, specifically the 1780s or early 1790s. The bridge is constructed of brick and features chamfered stone coping. Its shape is splayed, measuring approximately 4 meters wide at the center and about 7 meters wide at each end. The arch is set on a stone plinth with three rows of brick edging, with the innermost row being raised. The bridge stands around 4 meters high at the center and 6.5 meters wide at the base. Although it is in good condition, it was somewhat overgrown in places at the time of the survey in March 1985.
