Barn And Adjoining Shelter Sheds, Circa 10 Metres East Of The Manor

The barn and adjoining shelter sheds, located approximately 10 meters east of The Manor, date from the mid-19th century and are marked as Manor Farm on the 6-inch Ordnance Survey map. The buildings are constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with a slate roof on the barn and slate and concrete tile roofs on the shelter sheds. The roof pitch facing The Manor is covered with stone slate.

The structure has an 'L'-shaped plan, with one shelter shed extending forward at a right angle to the left of the barn, and another shelter shed at the right gable end, which includes a store or dovecote at a right angle to the right. The barn features two projecting gabled porches on the south side, with a lean-to between them, and additional lean-to porches on the north wall. The bays of the shelter sheds on either side are divided by square stone-built piers with flat-chamfered imposts.

There is a two-storey store with a single-width entrance at the south-west corner and a pitching door in the north-facing gable. The apex of the south gable has a triangular arrangement of pigeon holes. The barn's interior consists of seven bays with original roof trusses that include collar beams and tie beams, with struts extending from the tie beam to the principal rafter.
