Description
Corner Cottage, formerly a semi-detached cottage, is now part of a property occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Sandle. It dates from the 17th century and is constructed of coursed, squared, and dressed limestone with large dressed quoins and a corrugated asbestos roof. The building features an original ashlar stack and has a square plan. It is one and a half storeys high with a single bay. The front includes a three-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement window with a stopped hood, as well as a similar two-light casement window in the gable end. The cottage also has a 19th-century plank door with strap hinges set within a segmental headed surround. It occupies a prominent position near the corner of Church Road and the main street.
