Description
The Nook is a cottage located at the end of a row, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and coursed squared and dressed limestone, featuring dressed stone quoins. The roof is covered with concrete tiles and has an ashlar stack. The building has a rectangular plan and stands two storeys high with an attic.
On the side facing the lane, there is a single two-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement with a stopped hood that lights the first floor, and a similar three-light casement on the ground floor. Both of these casements have leaded panes. Additionally, there are two 20th-century steel casements, one illuminating the attic and the other the first floor in the left gable end. A 20th-century part-glazed door with glazing bars is located in the gable end, topped by a flat stone canopy with a moulded margin and moulded brackets. The gable-end stack features a moulded skirting. The interior has not been inspected.
