Description

This large barn, located about 60 meters east of the Folly Farmhouse, likely dates from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with quoins and features a stone slate roof on the west side, while the east side has corrugated material. The barn has two pairs of opposed projecting gabled cart entries, each with segmental relieving arches over a timber lintel and a segmental arch on the wall plane. The northwest entry retains its doors, while the southwest entry has been filled with three bays of windows and doors. Both entries have access on the returns facing the center, which now includes a shingled lean-to.

On the outer side of each western entry, there is a three-bay lean-to open animal shelter, marked by tapering rubble pillars. The east side features 20th-century corrugated lean-tos. Inside, a partition wall immediately south of the northern pair of entries divides the barn into four bays to the north and six to the south. The structure includes king post trusses with three purlins, and the central two bays have renewed timber on the south side. Both the partition wall and the south gable wall have segmental-headed pitch holes with dressed stone surrounds and dropped keystones, while a plain pitch hole to the north is now blocked. Slit vents are present throughout the barn.
