Description
This is a pair of gate piers located at Springfield Lawn, dating from around 1833 to 1850. They are constructed from sandstone ashlar over a brick base. The piers feature a shaped plinth, with shafts that have indents at the corners, a frieze, a cornice, and shaped caps. These gate piers are an integral part of a group of original piers that contribute to the significant streetscape feature in The Park.
