Description
This is a pair of gate piers located at the carriage sweep of Longford House, dating from around 1833. The piers are constructed of ashlar over brick, and they are currently painted and stuccoed. Both piers are square in shape and feature shaped plinths. Their shafts have sunk panels, topped with a crowning band, frieze, cornice, and pyramidal caps. These piers are part of a group of original piers that contribute significantly to the streetscape in The Park.
