Description

This is a pair of gate piers dating from around 1840 to 1850, located at the Kingsmuir Hotel in Cheltenham. They are made of ashlar stone over a brick core. The piers are square in shape and feature shafts with chamfered angles, as well as a band, frieze, and a chamfered cornice topped with caps. Each pier stands approximately 2 meters high. They are a well-preserved example of the gate piers found in Pittville Circus and contribute significantly to the streetscape.
