Description
Mount House School is a house dating from around 1790, set in large grounds. It is a two-storey building made of yellow brick, featuring a five-window front. The center of the front has a segmental bow with five windows. The brick is believed to have been imported from Italy as ballast. The house has a cornice and a parapet. On the ground floor, there are large three-light round-headed windows. A verandah wraps around the central bow. Although the conservatory and porch are from the 19th century, the porch retains its original elliptical fanlight behind it. Inside, there is a good entrance hall with stucco-work.
