Description

No 15 is a house located in Clovelly, dated 1896, as indicated by a stone plaque on the front. It features random white rubble construction and a gabled slate roof, with an end brick stack on the right. The house has a single room width layout with an entrance hall to one side.

The exterior is two storeys high and consists of two bays. It has two-light mullioned and transomed casements with square-paned leaded lights. To the right on the ground floor, there is a boxed-out bay window topped with a hipped slate roof, designed in a similar style. The door opening is to the left and features a 19th-century four-panelled door, which is topped by a reused 18th-century cambered hood with a moulded edge supported by 18th-century wooden brackets.

The property has an elevated raised forecourt with a rubble retaining wall, which includes some slate and concrete capping, along with iron railings. There are seven steps leading up to the door, which have slate treads and half-round nosings. Additionally, there is a door to the basement located under the forecourt, which is a plank door. The interior includes late 19th-century joinery.
