Description
No 14, including forecourt wall, is an 18th-century house that was restored in 1921 when the eaves were raised and an attic storey was added by Christine Hamlyn. The building features rough plastering and a gabled slate roof with a brick stack at the right end. It has a single room width plan with an entrance hall to one side.
The house stands two storeys high with an attic and has a shaped gable and a moulded eaves cornice that may date from the 18th century. The exterior includes three windows across the front, with an attic dormer featuring paired 16-pane, 2-light casements. The first floor has three 16-pane, 2-light casements, with the outer pair being 18th century and having thick glazing bars, likely retaining some original glass. The centre casements are later but styled similarly. On the ground floor, there are two 18th-century 2-light casements with thick glazing bars, probably also retaining some original glass.
To the left of the house is a door opening with a 6-panelled door from the 18th century, where the top two panels have been cut away and glazed. Above the door is an oblong ornamental plaster plaque featuring stylized scrolled waves and a central ship motif, dated "C. 1921 H." The forecourt is enclosed by whitewashed rubble walls with stone coping. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
