Description
This barn, located approximately 30 metres to the north-east of Lower Brownsham Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features small stone rubble walls and an asbestos slate roof that is gabled at the left end and hipped at the right. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the main range consisting of a barn on the left with a loft above, and a two-storey animal house to the right. Behind the left end is a single-storey double pigsty.
The exterior is asymmetrical, with a ventilation slit on the left and a doorway to its right, followed by a window. To the right of the window is another doorway, and between the two doorways is a narrow first-floor doorway. The left gable-end wall includes a wide doorway with a loading hatch above it. The pigsty, which is a single-storey wing behind the left end, has two feeding hatches on its outside wall. The interior has not been inspected.
