Description
The building is a barn and piggery located immediately southwest of Creber Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century or earlier, with remodeling occurring around the mid-19th century. It is constructed of slate rubble, rendered on the west side, and features a slate roof with crow-stepped gable ends and slate coping. The piggery has a lean-to roof made of corrugated asbestos.
The structure has a long rectangular shape, originally serving as a barn with a wide central doorway that has since been converted into a shippon. During the mid-19th century remodeling, the gable ends were embattled, and the piggery was added to the front right. The central barn doorway is now blocked, replaced by a smaller shippon plank door. There is a similar shippon door to the left, with a ventilation slit between the two doors and a loft door above. The ground level is higher on the right side, where there is a wide doorway in the right-hand gable end. The lean-to piggery features a series of closely spaced doorways. Inside, there is a feeding passage behind the cattle stalls, and the roof is supported by scissor-braced nailed softwood trusses.
