Description

April Cottage is a 17th-century house located in Parkham. It features colourwashed render over cob and stone, with a thatched roof that is half-hipped to the right. The left end has a stone stack finished in 19th-century brick. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with a one-window range. To the left, there is a gabled 20th-century porch with a 20th-century door. The windows are late 19th-century three-light casements, which have flat rendered arches above them. There is a similar style of casement window and a 20th-century extension at the rear. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have 17th-century joists and a chamfered bressummer over an open fireplace to the left.
