Description
Beam End is a 17th-century house located on North Street in Ilminster. The building features painted render and a thatched roof supported by wrought-iron brackets at the gutter, with a brick stack on the left gable end. It has a two-unit central-entry plan. On the first floor, there is a four-light wooden mullioned casement window to the left and a smaller three-light window to the right, above a 20th-century three-light window. To the far right is a low 19th-century three-light window next to a 20th-century planked-and-studded door, which is set under a wooden lintel. The interior has been altered, except for a chamfered lateral beam. The roof structure includes deep main rafters and purlins.
