Description
79 High Street is a late 18th-century house that has been converted into a shop. It features solid rendered walls and a hipped slate roof, with a rendered chimney located on the left side wall. The building stands three storeys tall and has a three-window range. The ground floor has a late 20th-century shop front, while the upper storeys display segmental-headed windows. The middle windows have one light, and the outer windows have two lights, with six-paned sashes. However, the upper third-storey sashes have only three panes, and the middle second-storey sashes are later replacements that include horns. A bracketed eaves cornice extends around the side elevation to New Street, which has a single window on the third storey that matches the windows at the front. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
