Description

This is a late 18th or early 19th century house, now used as shops and an office. The front is of solid render, topped by a slate roof. The house has red-brick chimney stacks on each gable end, with the left-hand one partially rebuilt. It is three storeys high, with a three-window front; the middle two windows on the upper storey are blind. The central doorway has flattened, reeded Doric half-columns, an entablature with triglyphs, and a modillioned cornice with panelled reveals. 19th-century shop fronts are present on either side, largely altered in the 20th century, although the left-hand shop front retains an ornamental iron grille at its top. The upper-storey windows contain barred sashes: the second storey has 6 over 6 panes, and the third storey has 3 over 6 panes, all set within box frames. A boxed eaves cornice runs along the top. The interior has not been inspected.
