Description
No. 4 Cooper Street is a house that has been converted into a restaurant, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features a solid rendered front and a slated roof with red ridge-tiles. An old red-brick chimney is located on the right side wall, aligned with the front roof slope, and its upper courses project to form a cap. The building is single-fronted and likely has a double-depth plan, standing three storeys tall with a single window range.
The doorway on the left side of the ground storey has a six-panelled door, with the two lowest panels being flush. It is framed by a plain architrave, and the lintel extends beyond the edges of the jambs. A lion's head knocker is present on the door. The ground-storey window consists of a single sheet of glass set in an old wooden frame, and there are large iron hooks on each side of the top of the frame, likely intended for a shutter. The upper-storey windows are fitted with 8-paned sashes in recessed box-frames. The interior has not been inspected.
