Description
Little Poolsteps is a cottage dating from the mid to late 18th century, located in Weare Giffard. It is constructed of coursed slatestone rubble with a rendered front and features a gabled and half-hipped thatch roof, along with a 20th-century brick stack at the right end. The cottage has a two-unit plan with a rear outshut and stands two storeys tall, with a two-window range. The front entrance is a 19th-century plank door with strap hinges, situated at the center beneath a thatched pentice. The windows are late 19th-century two- and three-light casements, which have timber lintels and 20th-century shutters. The rear outshut has a slate and pantile roof and includes a 19th-century plank door with strap hinges. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
