Description

HUNTSHAW SS42SE 7/110 Fairoak II Farmhouse, now two dwellings. Early C17, extended to left in late C17. Colourwashed render over coursed slatestone rubble; gabled corrugated asbestos roof; rendered left end stack, and brick ridge stack (originally end stack of early C17 house). Early C17 two- unit plan extended to left to make 4-unit plan in late C17. 2 storeys; 5-window range. Late C17 two-window range to left has flat arches over central C20 door and C20 three-light casements. Early C17 three-window range has flat arches over C20 door to right and C20 one-and 3-light casements. Late C17 outshut to rear. Interior: house to left has chamfered ogee-stopped beam and open fireplace with cloam oven to left, and chamfered ogee-stopped beam to right. House to right has chamfered ogee-stopped beam and open fireplace on ground floor; stone-flagged floor to rear outshut. Roofs not inspected.
