Description
Cranberry Cupboard Cottage is a house located in Weare Giffard, dating from the mid to late 17th century, with an early 18th-century bay on the left side. It was restored around 1940. The building is constructed of stone and cob, with a colourwashed render finish, and features a gabled thatch roof. There is a brick end stack with a bread-oven projection to the left and a brick ridge stack. The cottage has a two-unit plan that has been extended to three units and stands two storeys tall, with a five-window range. A 20th-century gabled porch is situated at the centre, featuring a 20th-century panelled door. There is a timber lintel above an old doorway to the right and timber lintels over 20th-century casements. Two 20th-century wings project to the front, one of which includes a water tower. Inside, the first floor retains 17th-century floorboards, and the left side features an early 18th-century two-bay A-frame roof.
