Description
No. 67 Fore Street is a house that also incorporates a shop, dating from the early 19th century. It features rendered stone rubble walls and a gable-ended natural slate roof, with a brick axial stack and another stack at the right-hand end. The building has a double depth plan, likely with a through passageway at the left-hand end, a central doorway leading into an entrance hall, and a shop with separate access at the right-hand end.
The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical front that has three early 19th century 12-pane sash windows on the first floor. Below, there is a 19th century shop bow window to the right, a central early 19th century six-panel door with a contemporary pilastered doorcase and a semi-circular fanlight above. To the left, there are two smaller six-panel doors, each with small fanlights above, with the left-hand door leading to the through passageway. Rendered pilasters are present at either end of the front. Inside, some original joinery may still exist, although it is not clearly visible in the shop area.
