Description

The King's Arms is an inn dating from the early to mid-19th century, though it may have earlier origins, possibly a 17th-century three-room house. It is constructed of rendered stone with a gable ended slate roof, featuring a brick stack on a rubble stone base at the left-hand end and a brick axial stack. The building has an asymmetrical five-window front, with the left-hand end recessed. The right-hand end features a 19th-century four-panel door. The main facade contains a large, 20th-century pane, 19th-century hornless sash window on each floor. The recessed section has 12-pane hornless 19th-century sash windows, except for a 20th-century replacement on the ground floor to the right. A 20th-century plank door is located in the left-hand end wall of the projecting range. The interior retains 19th-century panelled shutters to the front windows. The internal plan was altered in the 20th century.
