Description
The gate piers immediately to the southeast of Shebbear College are likely from around 1841, the year the college was founded. They consist of two adjoining pairs of piers, rendered and probably made from rubble. Each pier is square with chamfered edges and features large caps that have two round-headed panels on each side. The inner piers of the right-hand pair are inscribed with the initials "B.C.", which represent the Bible Christian origins of the college.
