Description

Pittbridge is a house with origins in the 17th century, but significantly remodelled and extended in the 19th century. The house is constructed of rendered cob and rubble walls, with a gable-ended slate roof. It has two brick stacks: one axial and another at the left gable end. The current plan consists of three rooms, with a large central room featuring a 17th-century fireplace at its left end. The room to the left may be a 19th-century addition, and a late 19th-century service wing was added behind the right-hand end of the house.

The façade is asymmetrical, with a four-window front dating from the early 19th century. The first floor has 16-pane horizontal sliding sash windows. The ground floor features larger marginal-pane sashes from the mid-19th century; the right-hand one is a French window. A panelled and glazed door is located to the right of centre. A late 19th-century verandah, with cast iron pillars and decorative spandrels, runs along the front of the house.

Inside, the central room has a fireplace with a chamfered spine beam with run-out stops (step-stopped) and a cloam oven. Other interior features date to the 19th century.
