Description
Cappys Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 16th century or 17th century, with a lower, non-domestic building that may have been added later at the north-east end. The structure is made of rendered stone and has been heightened with brick. It features a corrugated-iron roof and stands two storeys tall. There is a stack with a 20th-century brick top on the south-west gable, and at the north-east end, there is a stone stack with a tapered top, which is surmounted by a later brick shaft. The front wall includes 19th-century wood casement windows, which may have remnants of 16th or 17th-century head-moulds above them. In the centre of the rear wall, there is a rectangular projection with a small window and a lean-to roof, likely serving as a stair turret. Close inspection of the building is not possible.
