Description

Elm Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 17th century. It features a timber-framed structure with colourwashed brick infill, and the ground floor to the right is rendered with stone infill beneath a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and two bays, with a large end stack on the left that has a corbelled top and a round chimney pot. The first floor displays curved bracing at the ends and two diamond-pane leaded casement windows, while there are four windows below. To the right, there are three windows under pentice drip boards, and a central door also situated under similar boards. The right-hand return front showcases knapped flint infill within the exposed frame, and there is a gabled stair turret at the rear.
