Description

This is a late 17th-century bank barn situated approximately 10 metres north-west of Appleacre. It is constructed of rendered cob walls with a thatched roof, hipped on the left-hand side and gabled on the right. The barn has a rectangular single-cell room plan, with a doorway in the right-hand gable end. There are two storeys. Access to the first floor is from a higher ground level at the rear, requiring a short bridge. A two-light chamfered wood mullioned window is located at the rear on the ground floor, to the left-hand side. The interior features 19th-century roof timbers, consisting of straight-sawn principal rafters with lapped and pegged collars.
