Description
This barn, located approximately 15 metres north of Knowle, is likely from the 18th century. It features rubble walls topped with a hipped corrugated iron roof and has an L-shaped plan. The main range includes a threshing floor to the left of centre, while the wing is currently used as a garage. The barn is a single storey, with the wing at the front being the higher left-hand end. There is a cart entrance to the left of centre and a doorway to the right, which has a slit window at the far right. A lean-to is attached to the lower gable end, and at the rear, there is another cart entrance to the right of centre. Inside, the barn contains rough cross beams. Most of the roof timbers were replaced around the late 19th century, but a few original trusses remain, featuring straight principals with lapped and pegged collars.
