Description

This is a K6 telephone kiosk, dating from a standardised design period. The kiosk is primarily constructed of cast iron and glass, and has a square plan. It is painted red overall, with long horizontal glazing in the door and sides. The crowns in the top panels are applied rather than perforated. Rectangular white display signs reading TELEPHONE are present beneath the shallow domed roof. The kiosk is in good condition, with intact display signs and glazing. It occupies a central position within the village, directly opposite the Grade II listed Monk's Retreat Inn and Horse Shoe Cottage, and has a good visual relationship with these buildings.
