Description

This is a K6 standard telephone kiosk, dating from the 1930s. It is constructed of cast iron, painted red with long horizontal glazing in the door and sides. The crowns on the top panels are applied, not perforated. Rectangular white display signs read "TELEPHONE" beneath the shallow-curved roof. The interior has been modernised, but the original glass windows remain.

The kiosk is situated in a prominent position on an unnamed road at the centre of the hamlet of Bury. It stands close to three other listed buildings: Chapel Cottage (Grade II), approximately 20 metres to the northwest; Nos 9 & 10 Bury (Grade II), approximately 30 metres to the north; and No 19 Bury (Grade II), approximately 50 metres to the southeast. The kiosk has a strong visual relationship with these buildings. Note that the modernised internal equipment and window glass are considered to be of no special architectural or historic interest.
