Description

Bury Bridge is a medieval packhorse bridge that spans the River Haddeo. It has been altered over time and features a flat bedded slate stone construction with dressed rubble voussoirs, hit and miss coping, and a pebble trackway. The bridge has a four-arch span set at an angle. On the west front, which faces downstream, there are two semi-circular arches and two pointed arches, with square buttress cutwaters flanking the two northern arches. The east front has similar openings with three pointed cutwaters in the center. Bury Bridge is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Somerset County No 11).
