Description
Nos 1 and 2 are a semi-detached pair of cottages, likely built in the 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century and late 20th century. They are constructed from random rubble local stone, with roughcast gable ends and triple Roman tiled roofs, featuring roughcast stacks at the gable ends. The cottages have a staggered plan with two 2-cell dwellings that abut at one corner.
They rise to two storeys and have two bays. On the first floor, there are three-light leaded casements on the left and two-light casements on the right. The ground floor features a 20th-century window to the left of a square-headed entrance, a small glazed opening to the right, and two-light casements flanking a central semi-circular headed doorway with plank doors. The interior of No 1 has been partially observed, revealing a chamfered lintel above the fireplace in the main room, a pantry to the right, and a stair opening on the rear wall. No 2 is likely similar but has been altered in the early 19th century.
