Description

This barn, located about 100 meters southwest of Knowle Farmhouse, dates from the 18th century. It features timber framing set on a brick plinth, with weatherboard cladding and a half-hipped thatched roof. The structure consists of five bays and includes a south aisle. A large gabled central porch with double doors is situated on the south side. The north side has 19th and 20th-century extensions attached. Inside, the barn has tie-beam and collar trusses, with short straight struts connecting the tie-beams to the principals, and straight bracing extending from the jowled main posts and aisle posts to the tie-beams and arcade plates.
