Description
Binghams Farmhouse, now a detached house, dates from the mid-17th century with a 19th-century addition to one side. The farmhouse is constructed of rubble stone with a thatched roof featuring coped verges. It has gable end brick stacks. The main, two-storey, three-window front contains a central 20th-century ribbed door within a 19th-century gabled porch. To the right is a three-light ovolo-mullioned casement with a hoodmould, and to the left, a two-light ovolo-mullioned casement. The first floor has three three-light mullioned casements, and a blocked former stair window to the right. A 19th-century wing is attached to the right, with a slate roof, brick stack, and two-light casements. The left return side shows a 20th-century glazed door and a two-light mullioned casement to the right, both with hoodmoulds, as well as a moulded bull's eye window to the attic. The rear elevation features a 20th-century glazed door, a three-light casement with a hoodmould to the right, a 20th-century casement, and a two-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to the left. The first floor has two two-light casements, one with a hoodmould, and 20th-century three-light and single-light casements. A range to the left has a blocked doorway and two-light casements with keystones to brick arches. Inside, the south room has an open fireplace with an ovolo-moulded surround and the central room features a compartmental ceiling with chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
